Biografias com uma pitada de comédia têm grande potencial para eu gostar. Apercebi-me disso com este livro. Em parte, porque o autor regressa atrás no tempo e conta-nos com humor alguns episódios que fizeram parte da sua adolescência e inclusive, início da vida adulta.

I'm twenty-four or twenty-five. What does it matter? Twentysomething.

E, essa risada que damos inocentemente quando nos apercebemos de algumas situações caricatas que por momentos nos salta na memória impele-nos sempre a ver o que fizemos ou o que nos aconteceu de uma perspetiva mais positiva e leve.

Gary Janetti, conta-nos sobre a grande série que o fascinava, os seus ídolos quando ainda era jovem e, como o sonho de ser escritor e ator foi adiado enquanto trabalhava na receção de hotéis e via os seus colegas a perseguirem os seus objetivos. Não vos consigo dizer que adorei. Porque não chegou a tanto. Talvez pela análise detalhada de alguns momentos que para mim me passaram a lado. Mas, na sua maioria, são histórias interessantes. Sugiro este livro para quando precisamos de intercalar entre livros (talvez, de géneros mais pesados).
