Surpreendentemente, Dearly, foi o livro de estreia enquanto leitora para conhecer a escritora, Margaret Atwood. Apesar de ter imensa vontade de ler Handmaid's Tale e consequentemente, The Testaments, Dearly, um livro de poemas, foi o livro que me introduziu ao mundo de Margaret Atwood.

Also, I grew older. People very close to me died.

Dearly, foi igualmente o primeiro livro de poemas do ano de 2021 e com a leitura terminada fiquei com uma grande vontade para ler mais livros sobre poesia já que é um género que tanto gosto. 

You sound like a bird. You stop, but the sorrow goes on calling.

Neste livro, encontrei uma grande variedade de poemas desde temáticas como o amor, o futuro do planeta, a próxima geração, o passaporte, as lembranças, os sonhos, a perda até os zombies, os lobisomens e os extraterrestres. Um verdadeiro mix de ficção e de não ficção. 

Let's go out and fight the storm, she used to say. So maybe she's fighting it.

Os meus preferidos são: "Late Poems", "If there were no emptiness"; "Frida Kahlo, San Miguel, Ash Wednesday"; "Bird Soul" e "Lost".
