"Every Summer After" de Carley Fortune foi um dos primeiros livros que li da TBR de Junho. Estava muito curiosa e os meus domingos foram passados à beira rio pelo que todo o ambiente do livro passou para a minha realidade.

Além disso fez também parte da leitura conjunta do clube literário - Livra-te! E, acho que a opinião geral deste livro foi bastante unânime. Transporta-nos para as férias de verão de Percy onde os seus vizinhos são dois rapazes aventureiros, bronzeados e muito relaxados. 

These days I'm Persephone to almost everyone. Sometimes I'm P. But I'm never Percy.

Rapidamente, percebemos a facilidade com que a nossa protagonista principal se deixa enamorar por um dos irmãos que acaba por ter a mesma idade, o Sam. Mostra-lhe os seus filmes de terror favoritos, faz-lhe uma pulseira da amizade e quando não está na água, está provavelmente deitada a ler.

Por contrapartida, ele é amante da água, estuda para um dia se tornar médico e é o tipo de amigo em que a mera presença acalma.

A história é narrada entre o passado e o presente. Sabemos que Percy cometeu um erro terrível e, que é essa culpa que a faz abandonar o lugar onde passava todos os verões. No entanto, após uma chamada tem de voltar a Barry's Bay e confrontar, por fim, o passado.

Confesso que esse erro é descomplicadamente desvendado por nós leitores e que, a nível pessoal, para mim não existiria provavelmente um final feliz. Porém, neste livro temos um lado mais cor de rosa e de certa forma, dá-nos o que promete: um romance leve.
