Existe um fio invísvel que une, no ínicio do livro, duas crianças com histórias e magias diferentes. Cada uma doutrinada por sombras que arqueiam perante a sublimidade de vencer. Não se conhecem, não fazem ideia de como o outro se parece ou que habilidades têm até que o destino lhes faz as apresentações.

Someone needs to tell those tales. When battles are fought and won and lost, when the pirates find their treasures and the dragons eat their foes for breakfast with a nice cup of Lapsang souchsong, someone needs to tell their bits of overlapping narrative. There's magic in that.
