Li Red Queen ainda em 2021 para um projeto de leitura conjunta com mais duas amigas que são mega fãs de fantasia, thrillers e policiais. Li este livro em mais ou menos três ou quatro dias de tão viciante que a história era.

In school, we learned about the world before ours, about the angels and gods that lived in the sky, ruling the earth with kind and loving hands.

É uma trilogia de Victoria Aveyard e Red Queen ou a Rainha Vermelha é o primeiro livro da trilogia. Foi também o primeiro livro que li da autora e, posso dizer que mal posso esperar para ler os próximos livros.

Já não lia fantasia há algum tempo, pelo que, este projeto veio mesmo a calhar. Já para dizer que é muito giro ler um livro em comum com outras amigas e, quer ao longo da leitura, quer no final, irmos recebendo o feedback.

Neste livro, acompanhámos Mare Barrow, uma rapariga com sangue vermelho e, que por isso, pertence à classe trabalhadora, enquanto que, as pessoas que têm sangue prateado pertencem à nobreza ou até mesmo à realeza. 

The only thing that serves to distinguish us, outwardly at least, is that Silvers stand tall. Our backs are bent by work and unanswered hope and the inevitable disappointment with our lot in life. 

Mare, é uma rapariga corajosa que rouba para poder ajudar em casa e, também porque é o que faz bem. Vive na sombra da irmã mais nova que é talentosa e bonita e receia pelos seus irmãos mais velhos que foram todos para a guerra. O seu coração vive com medo, mas a sua vida está prestes a mudar quando conhece Cal, o príncipe herdeiro.
